An adaptation of the ever-popular, classic children's story by Maurice Sendak. Max is a sensitive, disobedient little boy who feels misunderstood at home. When he is sent to bed without his supper for being naughty, he creates his own imaginary escape to a forest inhabited by ferocious creatures that are wild and unpredictable. Max persuades them that he is a king with special powers and they crown him as their ruler. He promises to make everyone happy and they build a fortress. But Max soon discovers that ruling is not as easy as he thought and he eventually has a falling out with the wild things, who discover that he has been lying about being a king with special powers.
